The "Apollo 11 Contingency Lunar Sample Return Bag" is exactly what the name says: a bag used to hold samples of minerals from the lunar surface, and which was intended to protect them from any sort of contamination – biological or chemical – before the bag could be opened under controlled conditions for analysis at NASA's labs. The Type XX's Caliber 728 movement with modifications has small seconds, 15-minute, and 12-hour totalizers. In my early days of watch enthusiasm I may have been one of those people, making sure everyone knew that Sinn and Damasko (they sort of make an in-house movement) were doing something similar to IWC for a lot less money. But over the years I've come to understand that there are simply different buyers, with different motivations, buying in different segments. The chronograph measure is displayed on two rotating disks set into the wonderfully finished dial. The anthracite dial works really well, with good legibility and the "fixed double index" (the chronograph measure is indicated by the tiny bridge that spans the edge of the two discs) makes reading the chronograph simple enough while ensuring the functionality is as elegant as possible. Color is one of the things that RM does best. While it seems like this release is a simple color change to the existing 65-01, it's important to note that colors and tints have to be added to the resin material that eventually becomes Quartz TPT at the first stage of manufacturing.
